Overview
Located on the most Southern part of the Maldives archipelago, Equator Village is a unique hotel located on the island of Gan. Gan was used as a military base by the British Royal Air Force during the second world war. Equator Village is built where the old colonial buildings were located. Part of the old building still remains and is now carefully renovated and designed for the modern traveller.
Equator Village offers cosy and tastefully decorated 78 rooms. All the rooms are fitted with all modern amenities and open up to the lush garden inside the courtyard of the hotel. Just outside of these rooms lies the beautiful sandy beaches and world famous dive sites including the wreck of British Loyalty. During the World War this enormous fuel tank of the Royal Navy was damaged beyond repair. It was later sunken to its final resting place at the bottom of Addu channel.
